About
Origionally I hail from Little Rock, Arkansas, but I have lived in Savannah, Georgia for the majority of my life. I have a background in classical and jazz music from my arts high school where I majored in music. During that same time I led and assissted with organizations such as Model United Nations, Georgia Mock Trial, National Honor Society, Student Ambassadors, and Future Business Leaders of America. I attended the Governor's Honors Program in Valdosta, GA with a major in Social Studies and a minor in German. I have also attended a myriad of conferences ranging in topic from global business (Chicago NaFBLA Conference) and American civics (USSYP Annual conference) to Intelligence, Defense, and National Security (LeadAmerica, Washington, DC).

Career Interests
As a student of international affairs, I see myself serving my country through the CIA or State Department. I am particularly interested in internships with the CIA or other intelligence gathering and synthesizing organizations currently so that I might be able to gain first hand experience in the field. I have also looked into serving with the PeaceCorp and other private on-the-ground organizations. Because I also have an interest in foreign language, I would like to one day get TEFL certified. I am currently studying Russian and French.

Internship Interests
CIA internships, State Department internships, Capitol Hill internships, book stores, international internships

Research Interests
Through outside research and major projects my area of focus and study is Asia. I have done papers on the effects of media in the Middle East, hydrocarbons market in Central Asia, the effects of modern politics on American constitutional tradition (Supreme Court en focus), and Russian and Chinese foreign policy (defense and natural resources). I have done research on the Soviet-Afghan War, Ba'thism, Saharan and Sub-Saharan conflict, Pakistan and India, and the sturcture of terrorist organizations. I would say the over arching theme of my research is colonialism, nationalism, and the effects on modern world politics. I also enjoy history and language.
